Circus

I have always wondered why the company I am working for is in to making the people decorate the floor (a call center term for work area)like its Flores De Mayo Day. Every month I see intricate decorations plastered everywhere. Some are nice and creative but most are just annoyingly dreadful. They would always think of a theme like "Movie Month" or "Reality Tv Month" or "Most Horrid Decor Month". But most of the time it all boils down to which of the decorations is the most gay looking.

So I asked my friend, a team lead (call center term for someone who handles a group of representatives), what the circus really is all about. She told me that it is for encouraging the agents to come in to work. To put some fun in the workplace. To pull them off from boredom.

Hmmmm....interesting.

I was an agent before and you know what will REALLY MAKE ME HAPPY? A salary increase. More vacation and sick leave credits. Or... re-evaluating those people who got promoted for I dont know the reason why.

These things will really make an agent happy.

And I asked her a question as to when the decorations will stay after its completion.

She said: Right after they announce the winner, we have the clean everything up.

WOW! After those long hours of putting up something, it will only be there to look at for a night.

How insanely depressing.
